Still need:
Tip: write each kid's dinosaur name on tape and stick it on the khaki shirt.
Steps
- Dress the grown-ups in the khaki shirt and pants.
- Roll the sleeves.
- Buy or dig out a green hoodie for each kid, the toy dinosaur, and the ribbon.
- Safety: Adults handle the scissors when cutting the white paper.
- Draw the eye spots on paper first.
- Hold them against the hood to check.
- Cut two oval eye spots from the white paper, about 3 inches tall.
- Cut them smaller than you think, or they slide off the hood.
- Safety: Skip small plastic dinosaur toys for kids under three, since they are a choking hazard. (CPSC Halloween safety tips)
- Loop the ribbon around the toy dinosaur like a leash.
- Tie the other end to the kid's wrist.
- Keep the leash short.
- Optional pro finish: write each kid's dinosaur name on tape and stick it on the khaki shirt.

Common questions
Is the wrist leash safe for a kid?
Yes if you use a loose loop tied over the jacket sleeve, never tight on bare skin, and keep it short so it cannot catch on playground equipment.
What if we have no khaki clothes?
Any neutral shirt and pants work: tan, olive, or beige. Roll the sleeves twice and the field-guide look comes through.
