Sizing: Built for kids ages 3 to 10 and adults. Size the hat to the wearer’s head; the coat should fall above the knees.
Steps
- Cut the captain hat from cardboard: a wide crescent, front folded up.
- Tape the seam.
- Draw the treasure map on the brown paper, with an X and a dotted route.
- Wear the striped shirt with the pants, the eye patch, and the hat.
- Safety: Use a cardboard or foam sword, never a real blade, and keep the map rolled when walking in crowds.
- Hand out gold coins to kids you meet.
- Optional pro finish: learn one pirate phrase and commit to it all night.
