Color-coded pup vests and felt ears for the whole preschool crew. Each pup gets their own color. Thirty minutes, easy: t-shirts in assigned colors, felt for pup badges, and headbands. The badges should have each pup's name; named pups are a team.

Still need:
Tip: give each pup a toy tool matching their badge.
Sizing: Built for kids ages 3 to 8. Vests in each child’s size; pup-ear headbands fit most kids.
Steps
- Give each kid a color and a matching felt badge shape.
- Cut pup ears from the brown felt.
- Glue them to each headband.
- Glue the badge to the front of each colored shirt.
- Safety: Pin badges from inside the shirts, and keep headbands loose enough to slip two fingers underneath. (CPSC Halloween safety tips)
- Line the pups up by color for the team photo.
- Optional pro finish: give each pup a toy tool matching their badge.

Common questions
How do you handle a kid who will not wear the headband?
Glue the ears to the shirt collar instead. Ears on the shoulders still read as pup.
What if the kids argue over colors?
Assign colors by drawing from a hat. The draw itself becomes part of the game.
