A giant cardboard triangle painted golden-brown, with red felt pepperoni on top. The toppings are what make people shout 'pizza!' from across the room. It takes about 45 minutes, and it's a medium build: one big cardboard box, yellow and orange paint, and red felt. Cut the triangle about three feet tall so it reads from a distance.

Steps

  1. Paint the whole triangle a golden yellow-orange.

  4. Cut red felt circles.
  5. Glue them spread out.
  6. Add the brown crust strip along the wide end.
  7. Tape two string loops to the back so it wears like a sandwich board.
  8. Keep the crust at the top and the point at the bottom.

Common questions

How do you make it read as pizza, not just yellow?

The crust strip along the bottom is the key, a yellow shirt with pepperoni is ambiguous, with a crust it is pizza. Add the crust.

Slice or whole pizza for a group?

One slice each, standing in a circle, makes a whole pizza when you huddle. The group photo where you form the pizza is the whole point.
