A tan vest painted like a taco shell with felt toppings. The toppings go on the front, obviously. About forty-five minutes, a medium build: a tan vest or t-shirt, brown, red, green, and yellow felt sheets, and fabric glue. Layer the toppings like a real taco; neat rows read as flag.

Steps
- Dress the kid in the tan vest or tan t-shirt.

- Check the fold in a mirror.
- Do this before gluing.
- Glued felt cannot be moved.

- Cut yellow rectangles for cheese and brown blobs for beef.
- Glue them in a row across the chest and shoulders.
- Make the headband garnish: glue one green felt strip and one red circle to the headband.
- Wear it with the vest.
- Optional pro finish: glue a fringe of thin yellow felt strips along the bottom edge of the vest.

Common questions
Can you wash the vest after Halloween?
No. The glued felt does not survive the washing machine. Spot clean only, and use a vest you are fine keeping as a costume.
Felt or construction paper for the toppings?
Felt survives the whole night; construction paper tears and wilts with any moisture. Felt is worth it for a kid who will be running around.
